15 Day Grand Morocco Tour from Casablanca

Day 1 – Arrival in Casablanca (Welcome to Morocco)

The adventure of a 15-day private tour of Morocco begins today in Casablanca. Your driver will meet you at Mohammed V Airport upon arrival. After transferring to your hotel and checking in, you’ll visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, a famous city landmark built in 1993. This magnificent structure is one of the few mosques in Morocco that non-Muslims can visit.

If your flight arrives late, the mosque visit will be rescheduled for the next morning. You’ll spend the night at a hotel in Casablanca.

Day 2 – Casablanca to Tangier via Rabat and Asilah (Capitals & Coastal Art)

After breakfast, your journey begins by passing through Rabat, the political capital of Morocco. During your stop, you’ll visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the incomplete Hassan Tower, and the historic Oudayas Kasbah. These landmarks showcase the capital’s rich heritage.

You’ll continue to Asilah, a town renowned for its annual art festival and painted walls. The medina’s murals, created by international artists, transform this coastal gem into an open-air gallery. Lunch is taken in Asilah before continuing to Tangier. Overnight in Tangier.

Day 3 – Tangier to Chefchaouen via Tetouan (White Town & Blue City)

Today after breakfast, we head to the blue city of Chefchaouen. A quick stop in the white town of Tetouan breaks the journey. This UNESCO-listed city features beautiful Spanish-Moroccan architecture and a pristine medina.

Afterward, you’ll arrive in the picturesque blue city of Chefchaouen. Check in to your accommodation and enjoy free time to explore Chefchaouen’s beautiful blue streets and breathtaking mountain views. The town’s relaxed atmosphere and photogenic alleyways invite wandering and discovery. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

Day 4 – Chefchaouen to Fes via Volubilis and Meknes (Roman Ruins & Imperial City)

Your 15-day tour continues with a visit to Volubilis, an ancient Roman-Berber settlement. These remarkably preserved ruins feature stunning mosaics and offer a window into Morocco’s classical past.

Next, you’ll stop in the walled city of Meknes, another imperial city of Morocco. Here, we see the monumental Bab Mansour gate, a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture that reflects the ambition of Sultan Moulay Ismail.

Afterward, we head to Fes, the spiritual capital of Morocco. You’ll check into a traditional Riad in the heart of the medina. Overnight in Fes.

Day 5 – Guided Tour of Fes (The Spiritual Capital)

Another day begins with an exploratory guided tour of the Fes Medina. You’ll explore the oldest medina in Morocco, a labyrinth of narrow streets, bustling markets, and skilled craftsmen at work.

Visits include various landmarks: the historic Islamic university (Al Karaouine), the beautiful Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss II Mausoleum, the exterior of the Karaouine Mosque, and the Chouara 13th-century tannery with its iconic dyeing pits.

Your tour ends with a visit to the North tower, where a spectacular panoramic view of the entire Medina unfolds below. You’ll spend the night in a traditional Riad. Overnight in Fes.

Day 6 – Fes to Merzouga Desert (Cedars, Valleys & Sahara Arrival)

In the morning, we head south toward the Merzouga Desert. Several stops break up the journey. First is Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco for its alpine-style architecture and clean streets. Next, we visit the cedar forest to see the playful Barbary apes that inhabit the area.

After lunch in Midelt, nestled between mountain ranges, we continue through the scenic Ziz Valley. Vast palm groves stretch along the river as the landscape gradually transforms. By late afternoon, we reach the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. You’ll check into a hotel with a stunning view of the Sahara’s golden sands. Overnight in Merzouga.

Day 7 – Merzouga Desert Immersion (Nomads, Music & Camel Trek)

Around 10:00 AM, we embark on a 4×4 tour around the dunes. Exploration includes visiting the mining areas in the desert, remnants of past industrial activity. We visit Khamlia village to enjoy traditional Gnawa music, a spiritual and rhythmic art form brought by descendants of sub-Saharan slaves.

A visit to one of the nomad families offers insight into traditional desert life. Sharing tea in their tent, you’ll learn about their customs and challenges.

In the afternoon, you’ll take a camel ride and cross the sand dunes to the desert camp. On the way, in the middle of the golden sands, you’ll enjoy a beautiful sunset that paints the dunes in warm hues. Berber music begins just after a delicious dinner at the desert camp, where you’ll stay overnight.

Day 8 – Merzouga to Dades Valley (Sunrise, Gorges & Valley Views)

It will be an amazing moment if you can wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes. The first light transforms the landscape into waves of gold and orange. After breakfast, you’ll ride camels or take a Jeep back to Merzouga village.

We continue our 15-day trip to the Dades Valley, making stops in the Todra Valley and Todra Gorges for photos along the way. Towering red cliffs create dramatic canyon views. You’ll spend the night in a hotel in the Dades Valley, surrounded by stunning rock formations.

Day 9 – Dades Valley to Ait Ben Haddou (Rose Valley, Kasbahs & Film Sets)

Your journey takes you through the Valley of Roses and the Skoura palm groves. These lush oases offer a contrast to the surrounding arid landscapes. We stop in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco,” to admire Taourirt Kasbah and visit the Atlas Film Studios, where countless international productions have been filmed.

Finally, you’ll reach Ait Benhaddou village, where you’ll visit the famous Kasbah. This UNESCO World Heritage site has served as a backdrop for films including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. We spend the night in Ait Ben Haddou, a beautiful village by the river. Overnight in Ait Ben Haddou.

Day 10 – Ait Ben Haddou to Taroudant via Taliouine (Anti-Atlas & Saffron)

Finish your breakfast and begin our journey crossing the Anti-Atlas Mountain range. We pass through several Berber villages along the way, each offering glimpses of traditional mountain life.

We will reach Taroudant in the late afternoon, with a stop in Taliouine, Morocco’s saffron capital. Here, you can learn about the cultivation and harvesting of this precious spice, known as red gold.

Taroudant features impressive walls and a historic medina often compared to Marrakech but without the crowds. We stay overnight in Taroudant.

Day 11 – Taroudant to Agadir (Crocodiles & Coastal City)

On our way to Agadir, we make a stop at Crocodile Park. This interesting and educational visit offers insight into the wildlife of several animals, with a focus on Nile crocodiles in a naturalistic setting.

We continue our journey to the city of Agadir, arriving around lunchtime. After checking into a hotel by the ocean, you’ll have free time to explore this modern coastal city. Agadir’s long beach, seaside promenade, and relaxed atmosphere offer a perfect contrast to the inland medinas. You’ll spend the night in a hotel in Agadir.

Day 12 – Agadir to Essaouira via Taghazout (Coastal Scenic Drive)

A scenic coastal drive brings you to Mogador, better known as Essaouira. On our way, we may make short stops in Taghazout and Imssouane to enjoy very beautiful panoramic views of the Atlantic coastline. These surf towns offer glimpses of Morocco’s burgeoning beach culture.

We will reach Essaouira at noon, have lunch, and check into the hotel. You will have a free afternoon in Essaouira to admire the beauty of its medina, beach, and historical port. The blue fishing boats and fortified ramparts create a picturesque scene. Overnight in Essaouira.

Day 13 – Essaouira to Marrakech (Argan Oil & Red City)

The 15-day Morocco trip continues with a drive to the red city of Marrakech. On our way, we stop at one of the Argan cooperatives. Here, we can learn about this Moroccan oil and its many benefits, from culinary uses to cosmetics, all produced by local women.

You’ll arrive in Marrakech at noon and check into your Riad or hotel. Enjoy your first contact with the city by visiting its main square, Jemaa El Fna, as it comes alive with performers and food stalls. Overnight in Marrakech.
