Day 3 – Chefchaouen to Fes via Volubilis and Meknes (Roman Ruins & Imperial City)

Leave Chefchaouen and head toward Fes. On the way, you will stop at Volubilis, the remarkably preserved Roman ruins featuring stunning mosaics and classical architecture. These ancient stones offer a window into Morocco’s distant past.

Continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. Here, you’ll see the monumental Bab Mansour gate and glimpse the ambition of Sultan Moulay Ismail, who made Meknes his capital in the 17th century.

In the afternoon, arrive in Fes and check in to your riad in the heart of the medina. Overnight in Fes.

Day 4 – Explore Fes (The Spiritual Capital)

Spend the full day exploring Fes, one of the oldest cities in the world. The Fes Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, contains approximately 9,000 narrow streets and alleyways, creating a labyrinth of history and culture.

Visit the famous tanneries with their iconic dyeing pits, where leather has been processed for centuries. Explore Al Quaraouiyine University, founded in 859 AD and recognized as the oldest continuously operating university in the world. Wander through artisan workshops where craftsmen practice traditional skills passed down through generations.

The Medina is full of history, culture, and traditional markets at every turn. Your guide will lead you through this ancient city, providing context and stories that bring its rich heritage to life. Overnight in Fes.

Day 5 – Fes to Sahara Desert (Cedars, Valleys & Camel Trek)

Today you will travel to the Sahara Desert. On the way, stop in Ifrane, called “the Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture and clean streets. Pass through cedar forests where you can see wild Barbary monkeys playing among the ancient trees.

Continue along the scenic Ziz Valley, with its vast palm groves stretching along the river. The landscape gradually transforms as we approach the desert. By late afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes.

In the evening, ride camels into the golden dunes and watch the sunset paint the sand in warm hues. The caravan carries you to a luxury desert camp, where you’ll spend the night under the stars. Dinner and overnight in the desert camp.

Day 6 – Sahara Desert to Dades Valley (Sunrise, Gorges & Valley Views)
