After a morning pickup from your Fes hotel, we head to Meknes, an 11th-century imperial city founded by the Almoravids and later transformed by Sultan Moulay Ismail into a capital rivaling Versailles. Discover its highlights starting with the lively Lahdim Square, a bustling hub reminiscent of Marrakech’s famous square but on a smaller scale.
Admire the grand Bab Mansour gate, considered one of Morocco’s most beautiful and elaborate gateways. Its intricate zellij tile work and monumental scale reflect the ambition of Sultan Moulay Ismail.
