Day 1 : Fez
Our Tour ( 10 Days Trip from Fez to Marrakech via Merzouga Desert ) will start by reception you at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Visit the modern area of the city. Bed and breakfast.
Day 2 : Visit Fez
Today in our tour ( 10 Days Trip from Fez to Marrakech via Merzouga Desert )your local tour guide will pick you at your hotel and help you discover the city of Fes, the intellectual and religious heart of Morocco, our guide will take us to the Jewish District (Mellah), the Royal Palace, and a panoramic viewpoint over the medina.
Fes has many amazing places such as Medersa Bouinania, medersa el-attarine (theological colleges), the ninth century Karouine University, whose architecture is very similar to that seen in Moorish Spain Fes El Bali the city’s oldest neighborhood, and many more hidden gems, the medina of Fes is a totally absorbing and unique experience, tonight you will spend a second night in your hotel or riad.
Day 3: Fez – Ifrane – Midelt
Breakfast and departure to the Middle Atlas Mountains. We stop in the charming town of Ifrane, also called Little Switzerland in Morocco, a vestige of the days of the French protectorate. We cross the great cedar forests inhabited by pastoral communities. Then we enter deep into hidden Morocco, you can see the typical adobe houses and the nomadic and semi-nomadic populations.We arrive in Midelt, this small town, during the first half of the 20th century, had important mining activity but when it ceased to be profitable was slowly abandoned. Dinner and overnight in Midelt.
Day 4: Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga
Heading south, past the mountains of the High Atlas, we arrive in Errachidia via ziz gorges, where we see the first big palms. Continuing, we come to Erfoud, the economic capital of the Tafilalt region. In this area, the fossils abound, testifying that in the past,this region was covered by the sea. From here the asphalt ends, by Saharan tracks we arrive at the dunes of Merzouga. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5 : Visit Merzouga
This day will start with touring the Great Sahara Desert on a 4×4 car, which goes through the difficult dunes so easily. Next stop is Khamlia where we will listen to Gnawa Desert music and learn about it more from the local musicians. Then we will visit some nomads and share a cup of tea with them. We will go back to the 4×4 and explore more of the Erg Chebbi dunes. After that we visit Erissani, which is a fortified fortress. After that we will return to Merzouga, but now we will do camel trekkinng with a guide that will help us explore the Sahara dunes. Finally we go to the Merzouga desert camp where you will enjoy desert music and a night at a fancy tent.
Day 6: Merzouga – Tinjdad – Tinghir
Breakfast and departure, passing through the town of Rissani, meeting centre of ancient caravans from the Sahara. Later we stop at Goulmima, where we will visit a Ksour (adobe walled village) dating from the fifteenth century and still inhabited by more than 2,500 people. Continuing our journey, we travel through semi-desert landscapes until we reach the oasis of Tinghir, possibly one of the most beautiful places in Morocco. Following the Todra River, we see impressive gorges that reach over 300m. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7 : Tinghir – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate
Breakfast and after a brief visit to the village, we take the road of the thousand kasbahs to reach the Dades River, where over time, the river has eroded the rocks, forming a peculiar landscape. Arrive in Ouarzazate one of the most important cities of southern Morocco, known for its intense cinematic activity, having to his credit films like Gladiator, Troy, The Mummy etc. Visit of the KasbahTaourirt. Dinner and overnight .
Day 8: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, we take the road towards Ait Benhaddou, the queen of kasbahs, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continuing along a winding road, through the pass of highest mountain in Morocco Tizi n Tichka ( 2,260 m ) to reach the imperial city of Marrakech. Cultural city tour of the red city, named because of the colour of its walls. Marrakech is filled with gardens, watered by underground wells (khettaras), which were built by the Almoravids and Saharan nomads in the eleventh century. A unique experience, stroll through the square “Djemaa El Fna “where life and activity of the city is concentrated. Dancers, storytellers, jugglers, artisans, merchants and snake charmers can all be found here. Bed and breakfast.
Day 9 : Visit Marrakech
After eating breakfast, we will have a guided tour in the Red City. We will visit Bahia Palace and other places like Saadian Tombs in the morning. After we eat lunch, We will continue our guided tour to the ancient Koutoubia Mosque and Djemaa el-Fna square. The tour will conclude in the market (Souk), there you can discover the best works of Moroccan artisans and perhaps buy a souvenir. We will eat dinner in a Riad, where we’re going to also spend the night.
Day 10 : Marrakech – Fez – Airport
After breakfast in your hotel and according to your departing time you arranged private transportation will take you to the airport end of our tour ( 10 Days Trip from Fez to Marrakech via Merzouga Desert ) .
